Sustainability
Promenade Saucon Valley and Centennial have been responsible stewards of the environment in the Center Valley area. We are committed to providing customers, business owners and employees with an exceptional experience, while incorporating environmentally sustainable operating practices and energy-efficiency measures at our property. Ways Promenade Saucon Valley has safeguarded the environment over the past year include:
Recycling 352 tons of cardboard; the equivalent of saving 5,985 mature trees, conserving 76,686 kilowatt hours of energy, saving 140,822 gallons of oil, and reducing 557,644 lbs. of greenhouse gas emissions.
Diverting 45% of waste generated by the shopping center from landfills, saving 11,735 yards of landfill space.
Decreasing the center’s energy consumption by 50% over the last decade by switching to LED lighting
Promenade Saucon Valley proudly partners with our tenant FD Market, a sustainability and refill shop dedicated to offering eco-friendly products and educating the community on sustainable living. Together, we work to incorporate environmentally conscious alternatives into our events. During Earth Month, FD Market leads a series of activations and awareness initiatives to inspire and promote sustainable practices throughout the month.
Promenade Saucon Valley collaborates closely with our landscaper, LandCare, to support the community in planting over 200 trees each year in celebration of Earth Day
The public can learn more about Promenade Saucon Valley’s sustainability efforts through its SEE Centennial initiative, a program built on the three cornerstones of Sustainability, Efficiency and the Environment. At Promenade Saucon Valley, environmental stewardship is an important part of creating a sustainable future and another way the center supports its commitment to the community of Vernon Hills on Earth Day and every day in between.
